"The Chieftains made a mighty sound that alternately stirred the blood and soothed the soul." - Chicago Tribune
There's no escaping the beautiful contagion of their music: the toes tap, the heart swells, the pulse quickens, and now and then, the tears well up. Irish music wears its heart on its sleeve, and nobody plays the good old Irish music like The Chieftains. From the pubs of Dublin to Carnegie Hall, these fine players, faithful to their Celtic roots, have liberated the Irish soul in audiences around the world. And along the way—50 years and still playing—they've explored a world of music with Celtic roots and branches, from Spain to Appalachia and beyond, and collected six Grammy Awards and endless accolades for their artistry. Get your St. Patrick's Day celebrations started a wee bit early with this fabled band!
