Event Details
Surviving Through Mental Health, presented by Norfolk Community Services Board in partnership with Project ORF, is a community‑driven event honoring Minority Mental Health Awareness Month through connection, healing, and shared support. This year’s theme, Family Matters: Part 2, explores how mental health stressors can impact individuals and families across generations and how communities can work together to build resilience, understanding, and collective care.
The program features dynamic panel discussions with mental health experts, activists, and survivors, along with a fireside chat with state leaders including State Senator Angelia Williams Graves and Marvin B. Figueroa, Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
WAVY‑TV’s Aesia Toliver leads the evening as host and moderator. Attendees can engage with dozens of community partners offering resources, outreach, and support, plus enjoy music, raffles, food, and giveaways.
