CANCELED: Live From Here with Chris Thile Virginia Arts Festival
The upcoming engagement of Live from Here with Chris Thile, originally scheduled for May 9 at Chrysler Hall, and rescheduled for 2021, has been canceled.
“Live from Here has always been about bringing people together. It has been a joy to connect with you in person, on the radio, and online. However, as gatherings have become increasingly complicated, we are sad to announce that we will no longer be producing Live from Here. This past week’s broadcast was our final new show”, a statement on the Live From Here Facebook page reads.
Patrons should visit their original point of purchase for refund instructions. Patrons who purchased their tickets in person at the Scope Arena box office can collect their refund once the venue reopens. For additional questions, please email the SevenVenues box office at [email protected].
The successor to public radio's long-lived, much-loved A Prairie Home Companion, Live from Here with Chris Thile is a Saturday-night destination for audiences everywhere. This variety show features a unique blend of musical performances, comedy and audience interaction—and when it comes to Norfolk to broadcast live, you can be in that audience! Host Chris Thile, a Grammy-winning, genre-jumping artist with his own passionate fan base, has attracted high-profile guests to the show along the way, including Paul Simon, David Crosby, Steve Martin, Randy Newman and many more; and all signs point to a great show in Norfolk, with the highest caliber music, comedy, and some surprises.
Live from Here is produced and distributed nationwide by American Public Media and is heard by more than 2 million listeners each week on nearly 600 public radio stations, online, and on SiriusXM Radio.
Chris' musicianship, commentary, humor and his connection with the vital musicians of today have proven to be a winning combination.
