Event Details
Kountry Wayne (a.k.a. Wayne Colley) has been generating an extraordinary amount of buzz among his peers within the entertainment industry as one of comedy’s most notable rising stars. Since his first viral Facebook post in 2014, Wayne's career continues to soar, while garnering a loyal fan base. His widely popular digital sketches draw millions of viewers daily across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and his YouTube channel. These sketches feature original characters created by Wayne, as well as cameos from notable celebrities such as Ludacris, Mike Epps, Charlamagne tha God, and Lamar Odom, among others.
Keeping it real, mining comic gold from the everyday and applying his genius for freestyling, Wayne has mastered the art of storytelling. In 2017, Wayne embarked on the "Child Support Tour," his first national tour consisting of 150 dates, where he sold out clubs and theaters across America. The tour's name wasn't just a clever moniker—Wayne, a father of ten kids, is committed to securing their future as he builds his own entertainment legacy.
“My hashtag, my mantra, is ‘Help is On The Way!’ – that’s my slogan, I own it, because I believe God’s got my back and your back and whatever is stressing you out today, it won’t last because help is truly on the way,” says Wayne, whose endearingly funny way with English stems from growing up “Kountry” in Millen, GA (pop. 3500), between Statesboro and Augusta. He acquired his stage name during his time living and attending school in Savannah in the mid-2000s.
Wayne's career highlights in recent years include being named one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch" in 2021, starring in the BET original Christmas rom-com "Holiday Heartbreak" (2021), appearing on MTV's "Wild 'N Out" with Nick Cannon, and releasing his debut EP, "Drip & Zay," produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Zaytoven. Currently, Wayne co-hosts "I Love Us," a comedy clip show on BET+ alongside Kym Whitley, which premiered last summer. Wayne also starred in the comedy feature film "Strange Love," available on Amazon Prime, and the Peacock original film "Praise This," produced by Will Packer, directed by Tina Gordon, and starring Chloe Bailey, Quavo, Mack Wilds, Druski, and more. Additionally, Wayne recently filmed his first one-hour comedy special in Washington D.C. for Netflix.
Wayne has established himself as one of the most in-demand touring comedians in the country, amassing a devoted following while performing in theaters, comedy clubs and arenas across the nation. In 2022, the charismatic comic performed to sold-out theaters during his “Straight Out The Mud” tour, produced by Live Nation. Notably, he graced the stage of the historic Palace Theatre in Los Angeles as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival. Building on the success of “Straight Out The Mud,” Wayne set off on his second Live Nation-produced tour, “Help Is On The Way,” in 2023. Concurrently, Wayne released his debut book of the same name on April 18, 2023, through Harmony Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. In the book, Wayne shares his seemingly impossible story with hopes to inspire others to see that no matter where you started from or how stuck you feel right now, the possibilities for living a rich, full life are limitless. The foreword is written by NAACP Image Award-winning actor and comedian, Cedric the Entertainer.
With his humble roots and unbridled energy, Wayne continues to build his audience with cutting-edge yet clean, curse-free material that transcends cultural lines. All while still posting content online daily.
