Event Details
The Black Jacket Symphony will recreate one of the most iconic albums in music history, Thriller, live in its entirety—note-for-note, sound-for-sound—followed by a second set featuring Michael Jackson’s greatest hits. Joining The Black Jacket Symphony on vocals for the Thriller tour is international sensation Bogdan Ioan, whose remarkable voice has drawn worldwide attention for its uncanny similarity to Michael Jackson’s.
Ioan’s performance of “Earth Song” on The Voice of Romania stunned the judges from the opening notes and quickly became a viral phenomenon. Videos showcasing Ioan’s remarkable Michael Jackson vocals have since amassed more than 100 million views worldwide.
Released in 1982, Thriller became a cultural phenomenon unlike anything before it. The album spent 37 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards and produced an extraordinary run of songs including “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” and “Thriller.” More than four decades later, it remains the best-selling album of all time and one of the defining recordings in popular music.
Ioan will be joined by a full ensemble of Black Jacket Symphony musicians selected specifically to recreate the sound and arrangements of the original album, bringing Thriller to life with the attention to detail that has become the hallmark of a Black Jacket Symphony performance. And when the album ends, the night is far from over.
Following Thriller, Ioan and The Black Jacket Symphony will return for a second set featuring Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, creating a full evening celebrating one of the most extraordinary catalogs in popular music.
The idea behind every performance remains simple: Remember putting on an album and listening from start to finish? That experience comes to life on stage.
