Parking
Limited on-site parking is available at no cost in the Norfolk Redevelopment Housing Authority flat lot, diagonally opposite the Attucks Theatre on the corner of Church Street and E. Virginia Beach Blvd.
Security
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, all patrons are subject to metal detector screening and physical and/or physical inspection of their person and belongings. Failure to consent to an inspection will result in the denial of entry.
Suspicious activity, disruptive patrons, and guest-related problems should be reported to an usher or police officer immediately. SevenVenues reserves the right to ask any individual to leave if his or her behavior is deemed disruptive.

Event Details
Due to a family emergency, Nikki Giovanni must postpone her appearance at the Black History Month & Scholarship Celebration originally scheduled for Saturday, February 3 at the Attucks Theatre. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 24 at the Attucks Theatre. The program begins at 12:08 p.m.
Patrons should retain their tickets, which will be honored on the new date. Those seeking a refund should contact their original point of purchase.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, Omicron Pi Omega chapter and The Chesapeake P.E.A.R.L.S., Incorporated, Omicron Pi Omega chapter present its annual Black History Month and Scholarship Celebration featuring award-winning poet, writer, activist, and educator Nikki Giovanni.
The annual celebration highlights the rich history, culture, and experiences of African Americans while honoring the scholastic achievements of promising young students from Chesapeake high schools. WTKR Evening News Anchor Jessica Larché will serve as the program’s mistress of ceremonies. The event will also include performances by Norfolk State University Jazz Ensemble and local dance ensemble Dance Dimensions. Join us for a fireside chat with Giovanni in a celebration of African American’s contributions to arts.
