"Star Search," with host Ed McMahon, brought several stars to the limelight in the 1980s. Among them was Sinbad, whose now-lustrous career was just a pipe dream when he hit the Star Search stage. With 20 years of success under his belt, Sinbad has earned the admiration of a legion of fans, and tickets to his standup shows fly out the door.
Sinbad's first HBO special, 'Brain Damaged' (1991), was one of HBO's most successful 'Comedy Hour' presentations. Since doing that special, Sinbad has appeared often on television and in feature films, including 'First Kid' and 'Jingle All the Way' (both 1996).
