Judy continues, with music of hope and healing, to light up a world that needs music that matters, and speaks to the heart.
Few artists have the staying power as music icon, Judy Collins. An artist who has reached the highest pinnacles of creative success with her top ten hits, Grammy nominations, gold and platinum status and best-selling books during the past 50 years, she has chronicled her life and the world through her gift of narration and song.
But even one of the most gifted artists of our time has faced tragedy. And, through her extraordinary passion for words and music, she has been able to survive the painful journey she embarked on after her son committed suicide at age 33. Collins offers solace in the face of grief and loss. She breaks down the barriers of helplessness and secrecy to openly discuss the after effects of suicide. Speaking clearly and with a gift of creative expression, she assures us all that there is only one way to heal – right through the pain. In her deepest moments of suffering, Collins found relief by reaching out to others for help and support. Now, she extends her hand to comfort other survivors whose lives have been affected by similar tragedy.
